General Charging Instructions for a Vape Pen

While the process of charging your portable vaporizer is pretty straightforward across the board, it is important that you check the instructions that came with your specific model so you know you are charging it correctly. Generally speaking, charging your vape is pretty simple. In most cases, you just turn it off and charge it via a USB cable. It is important to use the charger that was included with your vape to avoid the device overheating and potentially exploding. As long as you follow these tips, your vape pen’s battery should last a long time.

There are some vape pens that do not use a standard micro-USB cord for charging. These devices have a cord that is designed specifically for the vape pens. With these chargers, you remove the tank from the vape and screw the battery onto the charging cord and let it charge.

How Long Does it Take to Charge a Vape Pen

The charging time of your vape depends on a couple of factors: The size of the battery and the type of battery. Some batteries can be fully charged in as little as 30 minutes while others may take several hours to reach peak capacity.

How full the battery is when you begin charging also has a big impact on how quickly it will fill up. If you start from fifty percent capacity, it will take less time than if the battery has been depleted. In most cases, there is a light or an icon that you will see on the display screen that will let you know that your vape is finished charging. In some cases, a light will turn on or it will switch from one color to another so you have an idea of the battery status.

How to Charge a Vape Pen without a Charger

It is important that you always try to use the charger that was included with your vape pen, but we understand that is not always possible. Sometimes you lose the charger or it breaks, but you will still be able to charge your vaporizer. You can use a standard wall phone charger that is compatible with your device if you have one. If you do not have a wall charger, another option would be to use a power bank, as long as you have a USB cord that will fit the charging port of your vape pen. Additionally, you can use a car charger that fits the vaporizer.

If you do need to use a charger that did not come with your vape, always keep a close eye on it. One of the risks that come with using chargers that did not come with your device is that the voltage may not be the same as the original charger, so there is a chance that your vaporizer could set on fire or explode. This is, of course, something that you will want to avoid. In addition to fires, there is also the possibility that the plastic that the charger is made from could melt.

Vape Pen Charging Tips

Charging your vape pen may seem like a straightforward process, but there are a few things to keep in mind so that you do not damage your vape device.

1. Do Not Overcharge

As with a cell phone, overcharging is not good for your vape pen’s battery. Overcharging can lead to decreased battery performance and a reduction in the overall life of the battery. It is crucial that when you plug your vape in to be charged, that you pay attention to the battery level. Once it is full, you should remove it from the charger as soon as possible.

2. Do Not Leave Vape Charging Un-Attended

As mentioned previously, it is important to pay attention to your vaporizer while it is charging. In addition to overcharging, any electronics being plugged can pose a fire hazard.

3. Avoid Charging too Frequently

In addition to leaving your vape plugged in too long, charging the device too often is not good for the battery either. If you used your vape for just a few minutes, you really should not charge it again, unless you are going to be leaving the house and want to ensure your battery does not die while you are out and about. One of the things that can negatively impact the overall battery life of your vape pen is barely using the device and then fully charge it again.

4. Use Included Charger if Possible

While it is possible to use other chargers, you should always use the included charger if possible. The charger that comes with your vape has the correct voltage for your specific vaporizer, so this is the best one to use. If you are in a pinch and need a different charger, you can certainly use a different one.

5. Stay Away from Water

One of the most important things to remember with any electronics is to keep it away from water. If your vape is splashed with a bit of water, it may end up being okay but chances are that the device will be damaged, potentially enough that it will no longer work.

What Happens If The Vape Battery Will Not Charge?

If your vape pen battery dies, it should be charged enough to turn back on within 2-3 hours at the most. However, if it will not turn back on by this point, more than likely your vape is not charging. If this happens, check your manual first and ensure that you are charging the vape properly and trying to turn it on the right way. If you still are not having any luck, make sure the charger is plugged in to the wall completely, ensure the USB cord has a tight fit in the wall adapter, try a different outlet, and you can even try another charger.

After trying out all of the obvious solutions and your vape battery will still not charge, then the battery may be bad, a connecting wire is damaged, or the charging port could be damaged. If this is the case, you can try to repair it if you are tech savvy, you can take it to someone to repair it, or you can purchase a replacement.

Can you Over-Charge a Vape Pen Battery?

Vape pen batteries can not technically be overcharged in the sense that they will hold more power than they are designed to. They can, however, be overcharged in the sense that they are charged too much. As previously mentioned, you should not leave the vape charging after the battery is full and you should avoid charging your vape too frequently. Charging your vape pen beyond what is needed to refill a low battery can be damaging to the quality of the battery.

What Is A Power Bank Vape?

Power bank vapes were designed with the vaper on the go in mind. They have a higher battery capacity and allow you to use your vape for longer periods of time. If you are the type of person that a lot is out and about frequently, a power bank vape would be a great choice for all of your mobile vaping needs. You do not have to worry that your battery will be depleted to the point that you are unable to use your vape.

In addition to the higher amount of power that power bank vapes offer, these handy devices do serve another purpose. Because of their larger battery size, they also work as a battery bank, meaning you can use them to charge your phone when you are away from home. If you have ever been out of the house and noticed your battery getting lower and lower, you know how beneficial a power bank can be.
